The Nest:
Postpartum Care

Supporting families through the journey of parenthood

About Me

Hi! My name is Rachelle. I am a birth and postpartum doula and lactation counselor. My passion for the birth community started through my own experiences and moments of trial and error with my pregnancies, postpartum and motherhood. Being a military wife and mother to three I fully understand the feeling of isolation and overwhelm that can come with pregnancy and postpartum. My hope is to support as many mothers and families as I can during this journey of parenthood.

With postpartum doula care you can allow yourself the opportunity to truly rest and heal. As a doula I will come into your home in the capacity that works best for you as the client. Services available include:

  • baby care (mom/parents can rest, shower, eat, run errands, etc.)

  • light housekeeping (baby laundry, bottle cleaning, dishes, tidying/organizing)

  • running errands (within a set radius)

  • meal prep

  • accompany client/baby to appointments

Daytime or overnight care both available with 4 and 7 hour minimums respectively. Inquire about packages.

Lactation Counseling

Successfully breastfeeding can be a tricky road to navigate. It is said that breastfeeding is natural but does not necessarily come naturally. When obstacles arise a lactation counselor can come alongside for guidance, support and the opportunity to work through different solutions to many different scenarios. From latch to problems with supply and everything in between, by assessing a nursing session and talking through goals and strategies most mothers who want to breastfeed should be able to find success.

Doula + Lactation

Breastfeeding assessment + goal setting and guidance + in home doula support

3 or 5 hour sessions available

"Rachelle has been our doula for over 6 weeks and I cannot express how amazing she is both with my son and as a person. She shows so much love along with quality and knowledgeable care to my son, which in turn has given me complete peace of mind whenever she is around. [...] She will go above and beyond in everyway possible to make sure your children are safe, feel loved and cared for as well as helping you however she can to make you feel supported. There's absolutely no one better than Rachelle!"

Bushra S.

"Support went so well! Baby was very fussy all day and Rachelle was able to keep him calm and sleep through the night with expected feed/diaper breaks. She also gave me a couple tips for feeding which have been helping a lot so far. Thanks!"

Meng Y.
